Tenzin Kalsang is from Hunsur, Karnataka. He joined Tibetan Institute of performing Arts in 2016. He is currently in the third year of training and pursuing his passion and dream in Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.
Q: What inspired you to give an audition at Tibetan institute of Performing Arts?
Tenzin Kalsang: My passion and love for music has inspired me to give an audition at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. There is a sense of peace and happiness whenever I listen to the music. It makes me feel so complete and has been my greatest company in every thick and thin phrases of my life. Moreover, I used to grab every opportunity to sing and dance in school, leading a keen curiosity to learn more of our culture, because of which I gave an audition at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.

སྐལ་བཟང་། གུས་པ་ནི། བོད་ཀྱི་སྒྱུ་རྩལ་རིག་གཞུང་དེ་དག་གི་ནང་ནས་སྤྱིར་རོལ་ཆ་ལ་དཀྲོལ་གཏོང་བྱ་རྒྱུར་ཧ་ཅང་དགའ་པོ་ཡོད། དེའི་ནང་ནས་ཀྱང་སྒྲ་སྙན་དང་རྒྱུད་མང་ཡང་ཇིང་དཀྲོལ་གཏོང་བྱ་རྒྱུར་ཧ་ཅང་དགའ་པོ་ཡོད། ད་ཆ་ངའི་བསམ་བློའི་ནང་། ཐོག་མར་རོལ་ཆའི་སྒྱུ་རྩལ་དེ་དག་ལེགས་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་པ་ཞིག་སྦྱང་ནས་འཛམ་བུ་གླིང་ལ་འགྲེམ་སྤེལ་བྱས་ཏེ་རིག་གཞུང་སྲུང་སྐྱོབ་བྱ་རྒྱུའི་དམིགས་ཡུལ་དང་སེམས་ཤུགས་ཆེན་པོ་ཡོད།།
Q: How best do you think you could make a difference for preserving Tibetan tradition and culture?
Tenzin Kalsang: I love playing instrument, specifically, Tibetan lute and hammered dulcimer. My current plan is to work more in learning those skills and spread awareness about our culture to the world.

Q: Which performing art form, you love the most. Why?
Tenzin Kalsang: – I love listening different forms of instrument and do some playing on my own creation. During leisure time, I dance and play instrument.

Q: Who is your role model and why?
Tenzin Kalsang: My role model is our Music Instructor Gen Choenyi la because for me he is someone I look up to as a great artist. He is an extremely talented dancer and moreover a great human being who is so great in understanding and kind in nature. I admire his quality that I look up to.

སྐལ་བཟང་། མ་འོངས་པའི་ལོ་ཟླའི་ནང་གུས་རང་གི་སྦྱང་ཚར་བའི་གླུ་གཞས་རྣམས་གཞན་དག་སུ་ཞིག་གིས་སྦྱོང་འདོད་ཡོད་ན་ཡང་ གཞན་ལ་ཕར་བསླབ་རྒྱུའི་དམིགས་ཡུལ་དང་། རེ་བ། ཡིད་ཆེས་བཅས་བརྟན་པོ་ཡོད།
Q: What is your future Goal?
Tenzin kalsang My future goal is to share all my knowledge to all the interested person who wants to learn Tibetan tradition and music.
