Tibetan institute of performing arts will conduct crash course training program for 9 MIPA artistes (Monpa Institute of Performing Arts) for the next three months. A customary reception was hosted for the trainees on 4th August 2021 in the main shrine in the presence of Institute’s administrative and faculty members.
The Monpa Institute of Performing Arts was founded on 19th February 2021 under the Vision and guidance of Shri Pema Khandu, Honorable Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and tireless efforts of Shri Jambey Wangdi, Chairman, Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik (Choe-Rig) Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
MIPA is a pilot project which was launched by the Department of Karmik&Adhyatmik Affairs back in 2018. The first recruited batch of 10 youths were given training by TIPA for thirteen months under the memorandum of understanding between Choe-rig Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.
The current training program would focus more on advanced level training in the specific field of interest of the trainees, i.e. Vocal, Music, composition, dance performances etc.
On the occasion, the Acting director, Mr. Sonam Chophel, extended congratulatory note to Honorable Chief Minister Shri. Pema Khando and Shri Jambey Wangdi for their sheer will and determination to keep the culture of Mon alive and fulfilling the Pilot Project. He also extended warm greetings to the trainees and expressed importance of making the most out of this precious opportunity at their helm.
