Grand Cultural Reception by TIPA Artists for the 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day
The artists of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) presented a grand cultural welcome to invited guests during a special reception organized in commemoration of the 67th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day.
On the evening of 9 March 2026, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) hosted a special reception at the auditorium of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts to warmly welcome distinguished guests who had been invited to attend the official commemoration of the historic day. The chief guests included Michael Brand, Jiří Oberfalzer, and Hans-Gert Pöttering. Also present were special guests, dignitaries of the Central Tibetan Administration, the Chairman of the Central Ghoton Organizing Committee, the Secretary of the Department of Information and International Relations, and other officials and staff members.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Karma Choeying, Secretary of the Department of Information and International Relations – CTA. This was followed by a brief introduction to the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts by its Director, highlighting the institute’s important role in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Tibetan performing arts.TIPA artists then presented a vibrant cultural performance featuring traditional Tibetan songs and dances. The performances beautifully showcased the depth and uniqueness of Tibetan culture and were warmly received by the distinguished guests, who expressed their admiration through enthusiastic applause and appreciation.
