On this day, the handover ceremony took place between our Acting Director, Mr Sonam Chophel and the new TIPA director, Mr Dhondup Tsering in the presence of Mr Dhondul Dorjee, additional secretary of the Department of Religion and Culture as a witness of the entire handover session.
Mr Dhondup Tsering has done his education from CST Mussorie and has graduated in the year 1995 from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He was then selected by the Central Tibetan Administration and was first posted in Rabgyaling Tibetan settlement as an office secretary and later as an accountant in the cooperative society of the same settlement. He was transferred to the Mundgod Tibetan Settlement from 1993 to 2003. In 2004, he went to study for one year in modernization agriculture on-farm training at Arava R&D in Israel. Upon his return to India, he was assigned a role of a project coordinator for the promotion of an organic farming project jointly undertaken by CTRC and COSPE – an Italian based non-profit NGO from 2005 to 2010. In 2014, he was transferred to the Department of Health, CTA to look after the work of agriculture-related projects and programs in the settlements as a Joint secretary of the Department of Home, CTA and has been serving in the Central Tibetan Administration for the past 26 years.
