Norzang Foundation Chairman Christian Huggenberg Leads Delegation on Official Visit to TIPA
Mr. Christian Huggenberg, Chairman of the Switzerland-based Norzang Foundation, led a delegation on an official visit to the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in Dharamsala on September 5, 2026, as part of their visit to the Tibetan exile administration.
The delegation included former member of the Tibetan Parliament Mr. Tsering Dorjee, Mrs. Anna Huggenberg, and Mr. Tenzin Choewang. The delegation arrived at TIPA at 4:00 p.m. and was warmly received by Mr. Dhondup Tsering, Director TIPA.
During the visit, the delegation toured TIPA’s office and various departments, where they were briefed on the institute’s ongoing activities, programs, and future plans. Following the tour, the guests gathered in the TIPA conference hall, where the Director formally welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for their visit.
Mr. Dhondup Tsering also expressed TIPA’s gratitude to the Norzang Foundation for its longstanding support. The foundation has provided significant assistance to various initiatives within the Tibetan exile community, particularly in the areas of livelihoods, education, and social welfare. Over the years, it has also supported a number of initiatives dedicated to the preservation and continuation of Tibetan cultural heritage.
As a gesture of welcome and appreciation, TIPA artists presented a selection of traditional Tibetan songs and cultural performances for the visiting delegation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Christian Huggenberg praised TIPA for its important role in preserving and transmitting Tibetan culture in accordance with the vision and aspirations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He commended TIPA for doing an incredibly good job in safeguarding Tibet’s rich cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.
Mr. Huggenberg also recalled having the opportunity to witness TIPA’s performances during the institute’s European and Swiss tour earlier this year. He particularly highlighted TIPA’s participation in the renowned international arts festival, Berlin Carnival 2026, in Germany, where the institute presented a street performance.
