TIPA Launches Teacher Orientation and Training for New Tibetan Performing Arts Curriculum
Dharamshala, 3 July 2026-Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) has launched a teacher orientation and professional development program to support the implementation of its newly developed curriculum and textbooks for Tibetan performing arts.
The curriculum introduces structured academic programs at three levels: a four-year pre-university program, a three-year bachelor’s program, and a two-year masters program. The curriculum framework and accompanying textbooks were developed following extensive consultations with scholars and experts possessing deep knowledge and practical experience in Tibetan performing arts and cultural traditions. A dedicated committee was established to prepare, write, edit, and compile the instructional materials.
Following formal approval by TIPA’s governing body, the Institute initiated a series of orientation sessions to ensure the effective implementation of the new curriculum. At TIPA’s invitation, the principal textbook developer, Tsangtruk Topla, PhD, is leading the training program for the Institute’s teaching staff.
